opium wars

Tea lovers here is a connection of tea to opium:China was the only country that produced tea and Britain was craving for it.Despite many efforts by the British to please the China Leader he did not burg and tea exporting restrictions by the Chinise were put in place. Britain got a plan to introduce Opium in china and whatever profits they got from these sales they bought tea Opium was not available in China but was commercially produced by Britain in India.Opium was not illegal in Britain and was compared to things like brandy or wine. However in China it was illegal and at the same time many chinise were addicted to it and the Britons took full advantage of this. Many Chinese became addicts and a time came when the Chinese leader had enough of this Trade and ordered tonnes of Britain opium to be destroyed this infurated the British and they responded by attacking the Chinise leader vessels. It was a war Of the modern society against ancient one,Britaain had power mortared vessels and China could not measure to this. They had no option but to surrender. Britain took over Hongkong and they did there trade from there. It is only in 1997 that Hongkong was returned to Chinese. After this ordeal you may think that China have truely forgotten but how do you forger a person that turns a huge part of population into Drug Addicts at gun point? For that lovely sip of tea Britain Sacrificed sobre brains.
